Position Summary:
The primary purpose of the per diem Senior Receptionist/Switchboard Operator is to serve as main receptionist for the building and provide general office clerical support.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Greets all consumers/visitors in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Monitors the waiting area to ensure the comfort and safety of visitors.
- Provides accurate information such as directions as well as building facility information to visitors.
- Ensures all individuals entering the building display proper identification.
- Issues temporary passes to visitors.
- Handles telephone calls in a professional and helpful manner.
- Schedules, cancels and confirms appointments.
- Performs light typing and clerical tasks for various departments.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Two (2) years of clerical experience, preferably as a receptionist and involving scheduling duties in a medical or clinical setting.
