| Summary of Position: | The School of Education seeks applicants for an Assistant Professor in Teacher Education. Responsibilities will be to teach courses in any but not all of the following areas: special education, secondary education, science education, or elementary education. The anticipated start date of this position is August 2024 or January 2025 at the latest. | |

| Required Education: | Ed. D. or Ph.D. in Education or closely related field. At least 18 credits of course work in special education or science education at the master’s degree or higher preferred. | |

| Essential Duties/Responsibilities: | Faculty members also have professional responsibilities which include advising students, orientation and registration of students, participation in University committees, keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students), and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance (ex. reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time). Faculty members may be required to teach off-campus or in an on-line environment. Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members Teach courses in education- general education, special education, science education or any other area qualified. Participate in committees within the department, college, and university. Assist in all accreditation processes including data collection. Any other duties assigned within the position classification area. | |
