Department Summary & Job Purpose:

The Willits-Hallowell Center, a catering and conference facility on the Mount Holyoke Campus,
has part-time on call positions for waitstaff. Hours will vary depending on the time of year.

Core Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

• The waitstaff is responsible for the service of food and beverage to guests and to assist with the setup and breakdown of all events. 

Qualifications: Minimum of at least one year of wait staff work experience, preferably in a banquet environment.
Ability to communicate effectively with guests and co-workers.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team and have the personal characteristics of good judgement and maturity.

Preferred Qualifications: Bartending experience is a plus and may lead to additional hours.

License/Certifications: TIPs and Serve Safe certifications a plus but not necessary.

Compliance Requirements: 

Physical Demands: Ability to lift and carry, to and from dining areas, trays weighing up to 30 pounds.
Occasionally required to assist in the set-up of function room, involving moving tables and chairs as needed. Packing ,loading, and unloading of catering vehicles.
