Job Overview

The Research Assistant - in a temporary role - works closely with Principal Investigator to perform electrophysiological recording from mouse CA1 pyramidal neurons followed by morphological analysis in brain slices of transgenic mice.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assisting in data collection
• Assisting in the analysis of research findings
• Assisting in reporting research findings

Work Interactions

Reporting directly to the Principal Investigator while working collaboratively, the Research Assistant at times taking direction from other laboratory senior research staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• 0-2 years of professional work experience
• Ability to prioritize, focus and achieve results in a fast paced and complex environment
• Ability to initiate and complete tasks under tight deadlines and changing priorities, while maintaining attention to results and detail
• Ability to professionally and effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders to advance the Laboratory research mission
• Ability to work independently and in collaboration with a team
• Excellent research and writing skills to include conducting literature reviews, extracting data, and contributing to research publications

Preferred qualifications

• 1-2 years of relevant experience
• Proficiency with data analysis, data visualization, database management
• Coursework in Neuropharmacology
