RADIO-TELEVISION SERVICES (BL-RTVS-IUBLA)

This position encompasses the convergence of computer automation and broadcast operations. Monitoring the needs of both stations radio and Television.

Department Specific Responsibilities

• Deploys automated services as needed while working closely with Traffic and Programming departments to solve logistical and workflow problems.
• Manages major elements of small to medium size installation projects, including planning, procurement, resource management, documentation of the project, training, and interaction with other departments.
• Responsible for upgrading and integrating broadcast equipment software as new programs become available.
• Serves as a technical resource for hourly and staff workers, the position writes and posts procedures for new TMC processes, while updating old procedures as necessary.
• Maintains records on existing hardware, software, and cabling.
• Operates a digital television control including the setup and operation of recording and playback devices, troubleshooting broadcast/computer processes, and evaluating the quality of incoming and outgoing signals.

General Responsibilities

• Monitors productions and signals, determines proper operation of broadcast quality equipment, provides troubleshooting guidance, and corrects basic and complex issues involving sound quality, production playback, and file transfer.
• Manages, designs, plans, installs, operates, and maintains video production facilities, tape and server recording and editing equipment, and lighting and stage equipment, including digital cameras, switchers, graphics, routing, recording, playback, encoding, embedding, compression, and multiplexing with multiple layers of audio.
• Assesses equipment needs for productions, procures necessary materials, and configures installation to ensure consistent operations during production.
• Designs and implements preventive maintenance schedules and operating procedures to maintain equipment.
• Regularly tests, adjusts, and evaluates installed systems and approves post-production media for technical quality for release to other broadcasters.
• May train Broadcast Technicians and/or Audio/Video Technicians on procedures and production equipment operations.

EDUCATION

Required

• Bachelor's degree in broadcast engineering, production engineering and/or related field

WORK EXPERIENCE

• 2 years in related field
