Job Summary
Independent of direct supervision, provide paraveterinary technical support to the Small Animal Clinic Veterinarians. Responsible for the treatment of patients, blood bank support, student instruction, clinician support and facility support.
Applicants will be screened on a weekly basis. The position can be filled prior to the removal date.
THIS POSITION MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR A HIRING BONUS.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Must possess a Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) or obtain within 3 months of date of hire.
- Experience working in a Small Animal Hospital as a veterinary technician.
- Experience administering medications.
- Experience collecting blood.
- Skill to independently provide intense moment to moment monitoring and reassessment of emergent, critically ill patients with life-threatening illness or injury, whose conditions are likely to change on a moment-to-moment basis.
Preferred:
- Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license.
- Experience catheterizing blood vessels and urinary tract.
- Experience in aseptic nursing and sterile techniques.
- Experience in emergency critical care medicine.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
