Department Description

The CTSC was established in 2006 through a 5-year $20 million dollar grant by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) that has been extended into a 4th, 5-year term. The CTSC is an academic home for clinical research to transform the clinical and translational research enterprise. The CTSC includes several distinct scientific and educational programs as well as shared resources and clinical facilities to enhance and support the clinical research programs at UC Davis and provide investigators, study teams, and departments with the tools to foster clinical and translational research. Under the auspices of the Associate Vice Chancellor for Biomedical Research, the CTSC provides the necessary research infrastructure support across the School of Medicine and the UC Davis main campus to promote translational and interdisciplinary research. As the academic home for clinical and translational research, the CTSC works with NIH and other funded CTSA awardees to expedite the translation and integration of science from a variety of disciplines into discoveries and treatments that will benefit society.

Responsibilities

This position serves as a Finance Services Analyst for the Clinical and Translational Science Center (CTSC) in the UC Davis School of Medicine. The position reports to the CTSC Finance Manager and requires frequent interaction with the School of Medicine Dean's Office, Business Contracts, Accounts Payable, and CTSC program managers. This position is accountable for all financial activities relating to processing complex procurement contracts and other agreements including the processing of requisitions and purchase orders, accounts payable, account management and analysis.
Required Qualifications

Applicants are encouraged to upload license and certification if required of the position.

• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and University accounting policies and procedures. Knowledge of University contract, agreement, and MOU policies and procedures. Experience of using Kuaii Financial System for financial transactions. Ability to navigate through Decision Support for financial management.
  
• Ability to analyze financial data and computer reports in order to draw meaningful conclusions. Ability to solve problems quickly. Ability to work with changing priorities and demanding workload and to use independent judgment to make logical decisions.
  
• Establish and maintain filing systems, databases and spreadsheets. Must be able to coordinate and organize a high volume of record files efficiently.
  
• Advanced skills in using Microsoft Excel and Word for Windows. Ability to learn Department and School of Medicine accounting software and other software for spreadsheets, word processing and database management. Must have knowledge using Microsoft Access for database infrastructure.
  
• Excellent organizational skills sufficient to perform multiple tasks and manage competing deadlines in a matrix environment
  
• Superior attention to detail and accuracy in the development and review of written work
  
• Excellent skill in time management and priority-setting
  
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally to various stakeholders, both verbally and in writing
  
• Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively within team environment

• Experience working with managers, staff, faculty, and clinicians
