The Substance Abuse Research Program (SARP) Research Associate position is with Dr. Carmen Masson's research team in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Services at the University of California, San Francisco and at Zuckerberg SF General Hospital (ZSFG). SARP promotes evidence-based addiction prevention and treatment services through NIH sponsored studies. A main study in the research group is the NIDA-funded study, "Expanding Access to Buprenorphine Treatment among Homeless Persons with Opioid Use Disorder" called BEAT-OUD.

The incumbent will work closely with Dr. Carmen Masson, SARP research assistants, study collaborators, and study partners to help coordinate and support Dr. Carmen Masson's research grants, primarily the BEAT-OUD study and LEAD. Under the supervision of Dr. Carmen Masson, the incumbent will provide both clinical and research assistance through a variety of tasks for BEAT-OUD, including:

Aiding with participant recruitment, screening, consenting, enrollment, and retention
Surveying people experiencing homelessness who have opioid use disorder (OUD)
Primary and secondary data collection and database management
Attending project-related meetings and trainings
The incumbent will spend 60-80% of their time working/traveling in San Francisco to complete the aforementioned tasks for BEAT-OUD.

- Attend project-related meetings and trainings.

Study participant recruitment/management/data collection:

Working in collaboration with others, schedules and tracks participant procedures and follow up according to study protocol; in collaboration with research team members, codes, and documents protocol events; reports reportable events to appropriate University and outside agencies; obtains and processes protocol-related materials.
Works with PIs to verify history and eligibility information to ensure study eligibility criteria are met; schedules participant screening and data collection interviews.
Under the direction of principal investigator and team, provides assistance with study recruitment, study participants. This includes direct contact with participants, completion of informed consent, and detailed tracking of participant data.
Conduct interviews with participants who are experiencing homelessness or are marginally housed and who have opioid use disorder.
Other tasks, as needed
