Job Summary:
Employees in this class are under general supervision in the Mini Dome. Some of the job duties include:
- Sweep, mop, and buff stairs, corridors, and floors throughout athletic facilities.
- Vacuum and clean carpets.
- Wash windows, polish furniture, and clean woodwork.
- Pick up paper and debris on the ground.
- Empty trash cans and clean containers.
- Clean bathroom walls, floors, and fixtures and replenish bathroom supplies.
- Perform all set-ups and tear-downs of all events in athletic facilities.
- Perform cleaning tasks for all athletic facilities (i.e., soccer stadium, baseball, and softball).
- Provide Fire Watch duties as required.
- Set up and clean-up up projects and events such as workshops, athletic events, concerts, and registration.
- Operate forklift trucks in a safe manner.
- Install basketball floor, tarps, and chairs as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
This job is primarily a 2nd shift position with the work hours being from 3:30 pm-12:00 am. The hours may vary depending on the event and mandatory overtime.
The position requires overtime and the ability to work various shifts and weekends as required. Facilities employees may be required to report at their regularly scheduled times during emergency closures or during inclement weather to perform essential functions including snow removal duties.

- Two years of experience in either maintenance or custodial operations is required (equivalent part-time experience may be considered).
- The worker is required to obtain a forklift operation certificate within 30 days of the appointment.
