Job Description
Medical Assistant/Health Services Aide
Experienced medical assistant to support the medical and nursing staff in the care of the patients in Boston College's Primary Care Center. This includes both clerical and clinical responsibilities such as drawing blood, obtaining vital signs, performing EKGs, documenting and updating pertinent medical history, medication and allergies in the Electronic Medical Record; answering incoming calls, scheduling appointments, coding of clinical encounters and assisting in supplies and inventory management.
In order to create a more inclusive community, each staff member is expected to support division and university-wide initiatives, staff events, and serve on committees as needed.
This is a twelve month, fulltime, benefits eligible position, weekends included during the academic year.
Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $36,500 to $45,600; salary commensurate with relevant experience.
Requirements
- Must be flexible and able to function in a busy environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills required.
- Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited medical assistant program.
- 3-5 years of outpatient clinical experience.
- Must have previous EMR and phlebotomy experience.
