General Description:

Reporting to the Director of Administration and Finance, the Director of Events is responsible for:

Directing and managing the Events team (2-3 full time staff/FWS student workers)
Overseeing revenue-focused continuing legal education programs; the logistics planning and production of annual commencement ceremony; high-profile institutional advancement events and other activities that impact the image and reputation of Chicago-Kent.
Overseeing internal (Chicago-Kent and University departments) room bookings process and revenue-focused external event services and facility rentals.
Developing standardized event processes and planning resources; provides guidance to departmental planners as needed.

Position Category: Full Time

Education & Experience:

Eight to ten years of experience in non-profit/higher education, constituent relations, sales and marketing, volunteer management, vendor/food service/catering/event management, and/or supervisory experience. CLE/CPE experience a plus. Bachelor's degree.

Knowledge & Skills:

Ability to set priorities and work independently and to oversee a project with minimal supervision. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Experience using and or comprehensive knowledge of CE21 or similar learning management platforms, EMS, or similar online reservations platforms, and Microsoft Office and knowledge of databases highly preferred.
