General Description:

Reporting to the Manager of Event Production and Operations, the Coordinator of Event Production and Operations assists in the responsibility of coordination and support of all event production and daily operations related to events in the McCormick Tribune Campus Center (MTCC), Herman Hall Conference Center (HH), and other facilities on the Mies campus. This position primarily works between the hours of 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Some weekends and mornings will be required on occasion, as needed for events and student support, including student training.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree preferred. Two years experience in a student union, hospitality industry or event services preferred.

Knowledge & Skills:

Knowledge of facilities management, technology, and audio and visual equipment used for events. Ability to motivate and work closely with students. Experience with and willingness to work with an ethnically diverse and culturally pluralistic university population. Strong organization, oral and written communication skills. Proficient with technological applications, website development, and the ability to develop technical skills as needed. Experience in staff training and development. Knowledge of and commitment to the principles of student development.
