The Center for Housing and Community Studies (CHCS) Community Advocate will oversee and coordinate a series of projects that assist organizations and residents in low wealth communities that are working to build grassroots capacity and support the development of alternative and shared-equity models of property ownership. The Community Advocate will serve as project coordinator for the Tenant Academy. The position will also support planning, health equity, and evaluation studies conducted by the CHCS by means of qualitative data collection and community engagement. The Community Advocate will also assist the PI in developing new proposals and projects to support the long-term goals of the Center. The Community Advocate will attend regular meetings with staff, community partners, and stakeholders. The Community Advocate will help organize and facilitate community forums (Housing Hangouts), meetings, and other events related to the mission of CHCS.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a related field or Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience related to the area of assignment or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in communicating and disseminating findings to a broad and diverse audience through social media, public speaking, authoring articles for public, etc.
