Overview

Princeton University’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) is seeking a highly motivated and technical Platform Administrator to join its Package Adoption and Configuration team (PAC). The PAC team is responsible for supporting the assessment, implementation, integration and maintenance of business applications and platforms that are essential to University operations. Through this work, you and the team help departments and the University leverage the full functionality of the systems they use in the most efficient and secure way.
In this position, you will be a key contributor on a project to implement the University Employee Health System application. In this work, you will also work closely with other OIT colleagues, business teams, and SaaS vendors to provide technical support for this new central application.
You will have the opportunity to broaden your experience in technical analysis, configuration, implementation and maintenance. You will also build on your knowledge of hosted applications, databases and integrations; as well as expand your skills in architecture design analysis, user permissions and technical configuration, branding, and accessibility. Since we believe in continual service improvement, we will also look to you to research and recommend new product functionality that would benefit University departments and users.
To maintain the health and security of the systems, you will review and apply vendor patches, maintain a change management process, create integration test scripts, coordinate backups and restores, and provide production support.
As a technical lead on projects, you will maintain communication and project planning across technical and functional teams and other business systems. Your strong understanding of University Employee Health System applications coupled with your understanding of and ability to comply with state and federal laws and regulations and university policies regarding information security and appropriate use and handling of restricted and confidential information (FERPA, PII, HIPAA etc.) will be essential to overall success.
This opportunity is a 2-1/2 year, benefits-eligible, term appointment that we are looking to transition to an ongoing position with funding approval.
Responsibilities
- Configure the application to meet business needs and University policies.
- Configure existing and new user permissions.
- Set up and maintain integrations between other systems.
- Perform system upgrade and coordinate user testing.
- Troubleshoots and resolves technical problems with University Employee Health System (Enterprise Health) to include application, integration, and data issues.
- Create and maintain required documentation for policy procedure and root cause analysis for any reported issues.
- Serve as technical subject matter expert for the University’s Employee Health System.
- Serve as primary technical liaison with application vendors', technical resources and other technology partners as necessary.
- Serve as primary contact with all departments that will use University’s Employee Health System.
- Maintain the service in ServiceNow including but not limited to knowledge base articles, responding to incidents, attending post implementation reviews and CAB meetings.
- Staying abreast of product roadmaps.
- Work with the vendors’ ticketing system to report issues or questions we might have.
- Advocate on behalf of the university and its business office on product development, security and accessibility.
- Disseminate information to user community relating to both service impact and new feature functionality.
- Coordinate activities relating to University’s Employee Health System and the user community.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience implementing and maintaining SaaS applications, databases, and integrations
- Demonstrated experience in applying software updates and coordinating application testing
- Strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and processes and translate them into application and operational requirements
- Proven ability to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally with staff at all levels of the organization
- Ability to build strong relationships with technical colleagues and campus customers with varying levels of technical understanding
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team
- Ability to successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Ability to learn effectively and meet deadlines
- Ability to understand both the functional and technical sides of the application
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
- Understand data and security governance.
- SQL experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent, related experience
