Overview
The Eviction Lab at Princeton University is seeking two Program Coordinators. This position tracks projects and coordinates meetings and assists with oversight for a research team of Research Specialists, Postdoctoral Researchers and student employees. In collaboration with the Office of Research and Project Administration, this role coordinates contracts and non-disclosure agreements related to large scale data acquisition, analysis, and sub-contracting; and monitors the Institutional Review Board (IRB) compliance and data security for the Eviction Lab.
Responsibilities
Project Management
- Track status of approximately 30 projects and provide updates to Principal Investigator.
- Monitor project progress and research specialist workload to report to Research Director.
- Maintain Eviction Lab project and general information records on multiple digital archive systems (Notion, secure server, Google Drive).
- Respond to queries from Eviction Lab team members about past and current Lab activities and Lab policies.
- Curate and schedule lab meetings, including both identifying papers that are ready for internal presentation and managing logistics for these meetings.
- Supervises workflow and assigns tasks to the Eviction Lab Faculty Assistant and undergraduate interns where appropriate.
Data Acquisition and Management
- Ensure IRB Protocol submissions are accurate and monitor data security compliance in collaboration with the Eviction Lab research and administrative teams.
- Manage acquisition and analysis of additional data sets related to eviction. Involves presenting data findings and communicating with suppliers to obtain the highest quality data source.
- Coordinate contracts and NDAs related to the acquisition of new data.
- Coordinate with web team and other contractors as main point of contact on short-term and long-term projects and payments.
Faculty Assistance
- Provides organizational, administrative and research assistance to the Eviction Lab’s Principal Investigator. Maintains Professor Desmond’s calendar, including scheduling and establishing agenda for meetings, and coordinating travel to conferences and engagements. Conducts research and fact checking and produces drafts of memos, letters, and documents for Professor Desmond.
- Proofreading and fact-checking reports and other documents.
Grant Coordination and Impact Tracking
- Manages and coordinates grant reporting requirements with the Eviction Lab Grants Manager in Princeton’s Office of Population Research. These reporting requirements include composing narrative reports to foundations, requests related to extending the grant’s activity period, and reports on deliverables. Monitors deadlines and collaborates with OPR Grants Manager on budgeting and re-budgeting grants.
- Track metrics related to Lab impact for use in progress reports to grant-making agencies in collaboration with media team.
Budget Management
- Addresses budget and purchasing questions for Eviction Lab research in coordination with Sociology Department Manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- 1-3 years of previous relevant experience
- Computer skills: Word, PPT, Excel
- High organization and administrative skills and abilities
- Clear and efficient communication
- Proofreading and editing experience
- Interest in the housing insecurity and Eviction Lab research is a plus, but not required
