Position Details:
Summary of Duties:
The Prevention System Manager provides culturally appropriate contract monitoring and technical assistance that disseminates the latest substance abuse prevention science research to tribes, service providers, community based organizations and/or coalitions. The Prevention System Manager implements a minimum of one statewide project using evidence-based prevention initiatives, a comprehensive knowledge of effective planning processes, program facilitation, and evaluation. The Prevention System Manager position is responsible for contract monitoring and compliance with state and Federal contracts and related documentation.
This position is located in Olympia, WA.
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to area of specialization and three (3) years of experience directly related to the specialty area. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Additional Requirements:
- Certified Prevention Professional or have a plan in place to attain such status within 6 months.
- Three years experience in substance abuse prevention/health education programing and/or community-based prevention strategies.
- Must possess, or be able to obtain at time of hire, a valid, unrestricted driver's license. Position requires some travel statewide.
- Ability to work non-standard work hours.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Grant writing and grant management experience.
- Experience in contract management, communications, and social marketing practices.
- Five years of successful experience developing and managing prevention programs.
- Experience monitoring complex programs for compliance.
- Ability to design effective work processes' to fulfill program goals and objectives.
- Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist Training (SAPST).
