Summary of Duties:
The Fiscal Specialist Supervisor position reports to the Administrative Manager of the Paul G. Allen School for Global Animal Health (Allen School). The position will mainly support the operations of the unit at the WSU Pullman campus and some with our international partners. The Allen School International Portfolio includes Non-Government Organization (NGO's) Global Animal Health Kenya and Tanzania.
This individual is responsible for overseeing department purchasing (domestic and international), property inventory, travel arrangements and reimbursements (domestic and international), and building facilities management and security access for BSL2 and BSL3 facilities. The Fiscal Specialist Supervisor is responsible for building and equipment maintenance records ensuring files are maintained detailing the departments compliance with all state and federal rules and requirement. This position is the building coordinator, Chair of the safety committee and the department liaison for all safety with the college and WSU central. This position provides clerical support for recruitments and advises search committee chairs on all rules and regulations.
Under limited supervision, the individual is responsible for special projects for department Director, Assistant Director and Administrative Manager. This position also supervises the work of a Fiscal Specialist and hourly employees.
Required Qualifications:
- Three years of experience at a level equivalent to Fiscal Specialist I, at least one year must include lead or supervisory experience AND 15 quarter hours or 10 semester hours of college level accounting; OR equivalent education/experience.
- Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency working with Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with WSU systems.
- Knowledge of WSU fiscal policies and procedures.
- Experience coordinating travel and processing travel reimbursements.
- Experience working in a higher education environment.
