Position Purpose: The Communications Manager, Advancement, supports learning by strengthening the university's reputation, financial support, and sustainability. Executes print, digital, and social media strategies that raise the visibility of the university, increase engagement with the university's alumni, donor, and community audiences, and expand the university's base of philanthropic support.

- Represents Aurora University in the most positive manner with prospective, former and current students, clients, suppliers and the community we serve. Interacts effectively with a diverse group of faculty, staff, students and other customers of our service, learns and uses operating practices of the department and Aurora University.

- Supports learning through performance of essential job functions and performing other duties and functions as necessary or as assigned.
Essential Job Functions:
- Executes integrated campaigns through the creation of digital and print collateral, marketing communications emails, social media posts, and other content as needed.
- Reviews campaign data and generates reports highlighting engagement and key metrics.
- Adheres to Advancement communications strategies to help increase community engagement and support donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Supports Advancement initiatives and events across the arts, alumni annual fund, university athletics, and other priority fundraising initiatives.
- Collaborates with Advancement team members to support key initiatives.
- Attends University events as needed.
Essential Job Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field is required.
Experience:
- A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience is required.
Skills:
- Some digital design experience including updating websites, generating marketing communications emails, and creating other content or collateral.
- Experience creating and placing digital ads preferred.
- Ability to create and schedule social media posts across multiple channels to support key initiatives.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Detailed-oriented.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet project deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to use a computer.
- Ability to move about campus.
- Able to work independently.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
