Faculty - Director of Graduate Organizational Psychology
The Director maintains academic standards, develops strategic plans, manages budget and budget allocations, promotes the program, works closely with the Dean, oversees faculty/staff hires, evaluates faculty/staff, builds relationships with Orange County organizations, associations, and businesses, and teaches in the Graduate Organizational Psychology program.
Responsibilities for this position:
Provide strategic leadership for the graduate program, including online and in-person master of arts, master of science degrees, and certificates.
Provide operational management of program, overseeing enrollment, matriculation, student success, program completion, and student graduation.
Oversee the continued development of the program curriculum in collaboration with university faculty and external subject matter experts.
Chair meetings of Graduate Program Faculty.
Administer University academic policy within the program.
Oversee management of class scheduling, staffing and catalog content for graduate program, working collaboratively with Graduate Program Faculty and the Dean.
Counsel and advise the Dean concerning any curricular matters within the program.
Maintain a file of course syllabi for all courses offered in the last seven years in their programs. This archive is to be kept in the University shared drive.
Supervise academic advising services for all students within the program.
Process student grade appeals in accordance with the grade appeals policy.
Conduct faculty reviews of Graduate Program Faculty within the program.
In partnership with the Dean and the Provost, nurture the professional growth of Graduate Program Faculty and guide them to maximize their service to Vanguard University, while promoting collegiality within the Graduate Program.
Collaborate with the Office of the Provost, the Office of the Registrar, the Dean, the Graduate Program Faculty, and the Director of Online Learning, to plan course offerings for the following term. This planning will include approval of courses to be offered, staffing of all courses, scheduling of the courses, and ensuring proper method of delivery.
In partnership with other Graduate Program Directors and the Dean, assist the Provost in preparing budgetary proposals.
In keeping with the University's procedure for hiring faculty, the director will direct the process within the program.
Teach at least three course per year within the graduate program in Organizational Psychology.
Preferred Qualifications for this Position:
An earned doctorate in I-O Psychology or closely related discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
Successful record of diverse experience in teaching and leadership within higher education
Communication and interpersonal skills for promoting the program and university locally
Consistent record of development and accomplishment as a professional educator
Knowledge of current issues and legislation related to I-O Psychology
Knowledge of research and methodology
Record of successful university-level teaching
Understanding of and appreciation for a Christian world view and experience of and commitment to the integration of faith and learning
Strong record of teamwork, collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills
Successful experience of working in multicultural educational contexts
Knowledge or experience with online learning preferred
