Position Details:
Summary of Duties:
This position develops, manages, and coordinates grant proposal narrative development with faculty for federal and non-federal sponsors for major proposals. Edits and/or coordinates proposal development with lead scientists for full proposals for large, multidisciplinary/Interdisciplinary, multi-institutional, multi-year research and scholarly activity projects and institutional commitment components of proposals; works with early career faculty and graduate students to strengthen grant writing skills This position regularly exercises independent judgment and discretion in work directly related to the specialty area. Provides proposal management and authoritative guidance to faculty and staff.
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to area of specialization and three (3) years of experience directly related to the specialty area. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Additional Requirements:
- Must have, or able to obtain, a valid driver's license by time of hire.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Must have the ability to travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree and minimum of five years of scientific proposal writing experience resulting in grant funding; experience successfully writing and developing large, multidisciplinary scientific grant proposals.
- PhD degree demonstrating general knowledge of various technical fields.
- General experience in a wide range of disciplines, business, administration, legal, accounting, grants management.
- Familiarity with major federal and non-federal sponsors that support university research and scholarship.
- The ability to provide supportive leadership, clear communication in a team-based environment.
