We are seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented Research Scientist to join RNA Medicine program at Stanford led by Prof. Howard Chang. The successful candidate will work with a multidisciplinary research team on the design and development of novel RNA therapeutics. Research is focused on addressing technology bottlenecks for the use of mRNAs, long noncoding RNAs, and circular RNAs for immune modulation, genome editing, and vaccines with broad applications for addressing human diseases.
This will be a 3 of years-year fixed-term positions with a possibility for extension based on performance and the availability of funding.
Required:
- PhD and/or MD degree with at least 5 years of relevant research experience in academia and/or industry
- Strong background in molecular biology, RNA biology, and mammalian cell culture
- Proven track record in research
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Preferred:
- Experience with RNA formulation, protein production, and technology development
- Experience with gene transfer, functional genomics, or immunology
Responsibilities of Research Scientist will include molecular cloning, RNA purification, protein production, cell culture, protocol optimization and scaling, novel assay development, attendance at weekly lab meetings, and participation in the training of postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and research assistants. S/he will be involved in multiple projects and will be expected to make scientific and written contributions to justify first or co-authorship on manuscripts for publication.
