Position Summary:
Postdoctoral Research Associate
Postdoctoral Engineer with expertise on Image Processing to develop fast and robust cardiovascular image processing (segmentation); summarize findings and publish results in research journals; assume general responsibility for scientific operations of the laboratory; provide supervision and guidance to junior technicians, students, and researchers.
Duties:
The Image Processing Engineer will develop and test image processing and data classification algorithms for cardiovascular imaging (IVUS, CT, OCT, MRI...). The Image Processing Engineer will analyze data, develop methods using machine learning for feature extraction and classification, and then finish the image segmentation. A critical aspect of this work is visualizing and communicating results. The Image Processing Engineer will create visual interpretations of data and methods, write reports, and create presentations. The Image Processing Engineer will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, including medicine, simulations, and 3d modeling.
Skills required:
The candidate should have direct experience in imaging processing, preferably real-time processing. The candidate should be skilled in C/C++, Python, MATLAB, or similar tools of image processing. Experience with machine learning and classification is highly desired (e.g., KNN, support vector machine). Experience with imaging systems, modeling software (Rhino, Fusion 360...), and animation code (Maya, 3dMax...) is highly valued.
