Responsibilities:
The New School seeks an Assistant Director in the Financial Aid Office to manage and administer Title IV loans, institutional grants, and need based scholarships to a diverse population of students. The Assistant Director reports to the Associate Director of Financial Aid and is a member of the Strategic Enrollment Management team.

The Assistant Director functions as a high level program manager. In addition, this role periodically conducts reviews to ensure that programs are operating in compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies. The Assistant Director serves as a resource for federal regulations and institutional policies for counselors and University personnel. Specific duties include but are not limited to:
- Managing the day- to- day operations of one or more areas of Title IV, campus-based or institutional aid programs or special populations such as: Direct Loans, Satisfactory
Academic Progress, HEOP, Study Abroad
- Responsible for the documentation and updating of office policies and procedures
- Coordinates periodic training for current staff members and new hires
- Counsels students and parents on all aspects of aid programs and financing options
- Acts as Financial Aid representative at workshops and open house events for prospective and accepted students
- Completes special projects as assigned
