Plans and carries out instruction, instructional activities, and prepares learning materials for special studies.  Provides instructions to students in both theory and practice in the particular area of instruction.  Prepares lesson plans and maintains records and reports on student attainment and progress.  Maintains classroom order and discipline.

Already hold a Kentucky Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT), Paramedic, Registered Nurse, or Physician.

Successful completion of ONE of the following:

• The National Association of EMS Educators Emergency Medical Services Education Standards Instructional Guidelines for Educating EMS Educators Course
• A KBEMS approved EMS educator course that meets the objectives of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)
• Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Education
• Minimum of four (4) years certified or licensed as an EMS provider at the same level or higher than level applying for.  Provide Documentation that two (2) years of the four (4) years' experience required is experience providing care with an EMS organization that complies with the requirements.
