The University of Washington Medical Center, Northwest Campus is recruiting hourly Nursing Technicians. Flexibility in shift availability highly desirable.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Registered Nursing Technicians (NTs) are students enrolled in a Registered Nurse Bachelor of Science Degree program or a Registered Nurse Associate Degree program. Must be in good standing and status in the nursing program. Candidates must have completed at least one quarter of a Clinical Rotation.
• AHA BLS certification.
• If offered, you must have an active Nursing Technician Registration listed on the DOH before attending the new hire orientation session.

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Nursing Technician (Nurse Tech) functions in an ancillary role to “Assist the RN in providing direct care, collect and document data gathered during the delivery of care, communicate findings and changes in patient condition to the supervising RN and collaborate with the other disciplines as appropriate to provide continuity of patient care from admission to discharge. The Nurse Tech may perform a variety of tasks, including but not limited to, transporting patients, supplies and specimens, ordering and stocking supplies, ensuring patient safety through monitoring and assessment, safe patient mobilization and hygiene activities.
Currently planning hiring for Spring orientation: 4/20 and 4/21 (two-day orientation, approx. 3:00pm to 7:00pm both days, 5/18 and 5/19, approx. 3:00pm to 7:00pm both days and June 17, 8:00am to 4:30pm. Interviews to occur February through May.

Basic nursing skills are REQUIRED for you to perform independently or have performed in practice/simulation or a clinical setting before you start employment. You will be asked to provide this checklist signed by your clinical nursing instructor before being able to receive a formal offer. The basic skills include the following:
• Infection Control
• Fall Precautions
• Bed Making
• Personal Hygiene
• Vital Signs
• Removal of Catheters/IVs
• Mobilizing patients
• Tubes and Drains
• Feeding
• EKGs
