The School of Pharmacy, Regulatory Science Program of the University of Southern California (USC), invites applications for a full-time staff member with the title, Program Manager, Admissions and Professional Development, who is strongly committed to excellence in managing student affairs, from recruitment and admissions to curriculum advising and professional development with the aim of meeting the strategic objectives of the Department of Regulatory and Quality Sciences.
The Program Manager, Admissions and Professional Development will work closely with all the key stakeholders, including faculty and staff, graduate, professional and undergraduate students, potential and current applicants, and internal/external collaborators to coordinate and support all projects, activities, and events needed to advance the objectives of the program.
Specific tasks include:
Creating and communicating of program priorities and performance standards and assess operations
Manages program staff and provides performance appraisals
Managing the admissions for all students into the program (including masters, certificates, and doctoral)
Overseeing student progression, professional development, and commencement
Managing alumni engagement
Serving as the key resource for program information to resolve questions referred by program staff, university administrators, or external parties
Developing strategies for marketing and promoting the programs to attract high-quality candidates for admissions including working professionals
Actively collaborating with individuals and groups across the school and university for building and promoting the program
End-to-end project management to develop programs to enhance student career, leadership and professional development
Overseeing the Career Fair, Internship Fair and employer information sessions
Identifying and developing student experiential opportunities including internships and externships
Strategically plan and collaborate to develop program objectives, content and course delivery across an innovative hybrid education format
Proactively evaluate the program with the key stakeholders to improve and enhance offerings
Explore short course offerings and other innovative approaches to engage a broader audience
Updating the Schoolâs Student Handbook to keep the information accurate and current
Leading the departmentâs responses to USC Graduate School Program Reviews and other information requested by the Office of the Provost and other units
Point-of-contact for accreditation requirements, data requests, and reviewsÂ Â
Identifying opportunities to engage alumni, focused on career mentoring and employment information sessions
Refining and managing database for alumni and other key stakeholders
Keep informed of development in field and participate in professional meetings as appropriate
Create,Â updateÂ and maintain accurate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the positionÂ
5+ years of experience in academic program administration
Proven ability to proactively analyze situations, define objectives and develop short- and long-term strategies
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with project management and program development
Experience in a professional degree program (PharmD, MD, PhD, etc.)
Highly developed and demonstrated internal and external customer service experience
Demonstrated ability to build and develop relationships across spectrum of internal and external stakeholders
Experience working with pharmaceutical, medical technology, or health insurance industry is preferred
Minimum education: Masters
Directly related professional and supervisory experience in area of program specialization
Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication skills, organizational and time management skills, leadership skills and computer skills
Be willing to travel to attend events, meetings, and academic/ professional conferences as needed.
