Responsibilities: The Manager, Strategic Knowledge Management is responsible for ensuring optimal leverage and return on investment from products created and managed by the Market Analytics and Strategic Intelligence (MASI) team. This role will develop, distribute, and scale knowledge management technology, processes, and related taxonomies to ensure high levels of execution in capturing, organizing, storing, and distributing industry knowledge and intelligence to the right people at the right time. This individual will synthesize and distill data and information from multiple domains through inference, deduction and analysis into actionable work products for constituents throughout the organization. A principle goal of the function is to speed up the process of learning and increase understanding and familiarity with market factors - resulting in a competitive advantage for UC Davis Health. The role will routinely interact with executive leadership and across functions to ensure effective capture and dissemination processes / technology. Based upon feedback and testing, this role will ensure that MASI team products evolve to support changing organizational needs.
Several years demonstrated experience with creating and / or managing strategic research and analysis work products - including the areas of business, customer, and competitor intelligence.
Demonstrated expert experience and skills managing knowledge management technology and processes necessary to be responsible for designing, planning, executing, and maintaining related capabilities and taxonomies for Strategy and Growth functions.
Experience training and educating constituents on knowledge management practices, systems, and tools.
Demonstrated ability to define and measure outcomes and ROI from related work products.
Experience managing internal customer relationship management technologies and processes to enable product identification, development, maintenance, and feedback cycle with internal customers.
Expert presentation skills with the ability to synthesize and communicate complex subject matter to a variety of audiences, including executives.
Expert collaboration skills and experience with stakeholder management and prioritizing many requests.
Proven ability to execute on department requirements through contracted resources - ranging from consulting support through contracted task orders.
Experience leading others and providing service through a matrixed work environment.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to synthesize complex information, assess problems, and develop clear, simple recommendations.
Bachelor's degree in related disciplinary field such as Health Care Administration or Business Administration, or a closely related field with three to five years of experience in health care strategy or a combination of education and experience.
Highly developed knowledge and experience in healthcare strategy, finance, and operational analytics.
Experience in for-profit, non-profit, and start up environments.
Experience in large academic healthcare setting with knowledge of or ability to learn UC Davis Health organization, structure, clinical, research, and administrative departments.
Special Requirements Ability to travel on University business and work hours as needed. This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
