Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Student Assistant at the Rutgers Center for Tobacco Studies. Funded by the Truth Initiative, the Student Assistant will help develop and lead engagement, advocacy, and educational activities which will inform and organize their peers and build a movement to become a tobacco-free campus.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Attend mandatory training.
Engage advocacy activities – which may include social media campaigns and/or partnering with an existing campus event to support a tobacco free movement.
Enlist and recruit student volunteers to support initiatives and activities.
Organize and host two town hall meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Must be a student enrolled in Rutgers University.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
High degree of emotional intelligence.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Experience with all Social Media platforms including Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
Previous experience in advocacy work.
Familiarity with the Truth Initiative
