Research - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Project Coordinator I for the Survey Research Center of the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy. This position reports to the Research Project Manager.
Among the key duties of this position are the following
Coordinates and manages the execution of BCSR's survey research activities and a wide range of survey research as assigned, in particular, the execution of the DDPI project for the NJ Department of Human Services.
Hires and supervises part-time staff for data collection activities.
Assists with the development of proposals to obtain sponsored research grants/contracts.
Acts as liaison to represent the BCSR with internal and external clients, creates and manages databases to manage work flow/product, and IRB compliance, and ensures that all research activities are compliant with BCSR policies and funding requirements.
Creates and develops data files to support planning and decision making, provides updates on project status, increases efficiency, and presents issues surrounding data collection.
Responsible for all phases of data collection and evaluation projects, including inception, data collection, and analysis.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a social science or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
A minimum of two (2) years of experience in program coordination or an administrative function that includes coordination of work and management of people.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong computer literacy and database skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and on-site and telephone data collection experience.
Knowledge of intellectual and developmental disabilities and strong problem-solving and communication skills, especially on the phone.
Experience conducting all phases of survey research projects with excellent research skills.
High level of sensitivity and diplomacy in dealing with sponsors and project research subjects participating in research studies.
Well-organized and capable of managing multiple project assignments.
Adept at creating and managing databases, as well as extracting, primary cleaning, and conducting accuracy checks on data
Ability to make decisions, prioritize, and resolve any issues regarding the project's initiation, protocol, and data collection coordination while working in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with clients/project sponsors, manage competing deadlines, and supervise and train staff.
Demonstrated attention to detail in prior social science research studies and supervision of full and part-time staff is highly preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This position requires organizing and moving boxes of supplies and surveys into allocated storage areas throughout the office on various projects.
The boxes may weigh up to 40lbs.
This position requires moving and setting up tables and chairs for group meetings.
