Under the general direction of the Security Manager, the Shift Supervisor oversees UC San Diego Health System security staff at Hillcrest and La Jolla Medical Centers to promote a safe and secure environment for UC San Diego Health System/Enterprise community.
Provides leadership and ensures compliance with quality service goals, services standards as well as Security & Medical Center policy and procedures to ensure the effective and efficient operations of the security management program. Participates in departmental budget planning and monitoring and will be able to assume duties in the Security Operations Center as needed.
This includes but not limited to acknowledging and monitoring access control alarms, CCTV activity, monitoring/managing radio communications and the infant security systems. In addition to employee oversight, the Shift Supervisor is required to manage the daily shift schedules and conduct timely evaluations.
Maintains daily document reviews to ensure all incident reports and daily activity reports are completed, thorough and grammatically correct. Oversight of employee/departmental equipment to ensure it is serviceable and well maintained. Ensures monthly training compliance and attendance are within departmental/Medical Center standards and issue appropriate disciplinary action as needed. Job standards are to be performed at the PRACTITIONER level.
California Guard Registration.
IAHSS Supervisory Certification within six (6) months.
Experience with and knowledge of regulations regardinghazardous materials, fire codes, building codes, and allother relevant safety requirements.
High School Diploma or equivalent minimum.
Five (5) years supervisory experience in security or security related field, such as corrections, law enforcement, or military.
Proficient with MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality and solid decision making.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
BA/BS Degree; or equivalent combination of relevant training and experience.
Experience in Healthcare/Higher Education.
MOAB or CPI.
Demonstrated public speaking skills, and the ability to lead training courses.
Must be able to work various hours & locations based on business needs.
