A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Michigan State University under the supervision of Dr. Susan J. Masten. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will work on a project focused to exploring the potential to develop an Engineering for Global Engagement curriculum to support new experiential opportunities for MSU Engineering students desirous of engaging in broadening their learning experiences while adhering to ABET required curricular offerings. This position will involve developing collaborations with faculty and staff involved in Education Abroad experiences for Engineering students, especially programs in East Africa. The ideal candidate will have experience leading Education Abroad experiences, working with such student organizations as Engineers without Borders, curricular assessment, and conducting research in East Africa. The position will require strong communication, proposal-writing, and leadership skills. We are looking to fill the position ASAP and duration is up to 6 months at 25% time.

Doctorate -Environmental Engineering or closely related field
PhD degree in Environmental Engineering or a closely related field;
Significant experience in leading Education Abroad experiences, working with student organizations such as Engineers without Borders and conducting research in the Global South, particularly East Africa;
Strong oral and written communication skills;
Ability to work well in a team setting and be highly self-motivated.
Experience in curricular assessment and proposal writing
