The Engagement and Opportunity Development (EOD)/Business Development (BD) Manager position is focused on the commercialization and scouting of health-related commercial assets within UCSF. The EOD BD Manager will help source and review technologies created at UCSF, recommend paths to market and facilitate new start up development. This includes detailed market analysis, competitive landscape analysis and developing an early go to market strategy; identifies key questions that need to be addressed to in these areas and seeks outside advice/input as necessary and makes recommendations to management on next steps. In addition, the EOD BD Manager works with faculty and departments to improve the outreach of Innovation Ventures and works to value add the skills of Innovation Ventures to the research community.
The Business Development leader may manage programs that include formulating strategies and administering policies, processes, and resources; functions with a high degree of autonomy.
Reporting to the Senior Associate Director, Office of Technology Management ("OTM"), the EOD BD Manager conducts various aspects of scouting and evaluation of assets in the therapeutics/diagnostics space including creating value from health data assets.
