Research - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
The overall objective of the project supporting the Laboratory Assistant II position is to gain biological and mechanistic insights into the events that drive progression of chronic inflammation-associated cancers with an emphasis on the role of the stromal tissue components. Such biological insights will be gained through implementation of a panel of complementary in vitro and in vivo experiments aimed at identifying key events driving a progression model of lung squamous cell carcinoma. Additional experimental platforms include esophagus and colon progression models. The ultimate goal of the project is to identify leverage points for therapies aimed at stopping and perhaps even reverting progression of this type of very aggressive cancers. The individual will assist in implementation of these in vitro and in vivo experiments.
