This Staff Research Associate I (SRA I) is a laboratory-based position in a group that studies mechanisms of liver disease including fatty liver and fibrosis/cirrhosis. The lab is in search of a SRA I who will take part in some or all of the following duties: (a) maintenance and genotyping of mouse colonies; (b) isolation of primary cells from animal and human livers; (c) maintenance of human hepatic stellate cells.
In addition, the SRA I will perform experiments examining hepatic stellate cell responses to various insults in cell culture, and analyze responses by Western blotting, quantitative gene expression, or immunohistochemistry. The SRA I will work under the direct supervision of the lab director.
