UCSF Medical Education is looking for a Communications Manager who will bring diverse experiences to support the education initiatives of the UCSF School of Medicine (SOM). The Medical Education Communications Manager independently oversees all Medical Education communications and initiatives on behalf of the Vice Dean and Associate Deans of Medical Education for the UCSF School of Medicine. These initiatives serve the entire Medical Education enterprise including Undergraduate, Graduate, and Continuing Medical Education. The Manager oversees medical education communication across UCSF's medical education campuses in the San Joaquin Valley and UC Berkeley and coordinates leadership communications for the Vice Dean for Education and Associate Deans for Undergraduate Medical Education.
The Communications Manager is responsible for developing and executiing communication strategies for new medical education initiatives to internal and external audiences. This includes developing communication plans, writing news stories, producing monthly medical education newsletters and digital media strategies.
The Manager provides central oversight for all Medical Education websites and direction to unit-based communication specialists.
This position follows the strategic guidance and branding directives of the UCSF Office of Communications and the School of Medicine's Communications office. The Manager collaborates with the School of Medicine Director of Leadership Communication to develop and execute organizational communication and market branding strategy for all medical education initiatives, social social media campaigns, video production for external audiences, and medical education's digital photo library.
