UCSF's Clinical Trials Operations Office as part of the Office of the Associate Vice Chancellor (AVC), Clinical Research is seeking an innovative and resourceful Program Manager (PM) who is a strong leader, to support the Director of Clinical Trials Operations and the advisory committee Clinical Trials Advisory Committee (CTAC). The Program Manager works collaboratively with the Director and other senior staff within the Office of Research and will be expected to oversee the successful implementation of program objectives and priorities and the timely completion of program milestones. She/they/he will possess the ability to effectively communicate complex and technical information in a clear and concise manner for multiple audiences. He/she/they will demonstrate effective interpersonal and collaborative skills to build strong working relationships with stakeholders and leaders at all levels across the university. The Program Manager must work creatively and independently, and be able to manage multiple projects with conflicting deadlines concurrently.
This is a unique program manager role, specializing in clinical research operations. The PM is responsible for general oversight of activities within the program and ensuring that clinical trialists have a clear point of contact to whom they can voice their operational needs and concerns. The PM works towards identifying, prioritizing and partnering with subject-matter experts to resolve operational issues related to clinical trials and for appropriately routing and stewarding those concerns to resolution. The PM also serves both to aid and advocate for UCSF faculty related to clinical trial facilitation with an emphasis on promoting collaboration across campus departments and units. A notable feature of the position is that it involves activities that range from creative and independent to those that are relatively routine, and the successful Program Manager will do both well.
