The Administrative Officer will provide executive-level support primarily to three faculty including the Chief of Endocrine Surgery as well as the Program Director for the Endocrine Fellowship and will serve as back up support to other Endocrine faculty when needed. The individual will manage a range of responsibilities associated with the faculty's administrative, research, and clinical roles. The responsibilities include communication surrounding the faculty leadership roles at UCSF, including oral communication and written correspondence with Division and Department faculty, other university faculty and officials, the Dean and UCSF Medical Center administration, national journal editorial boards, publishers, professional associations, research institutes, private corporations, and private foundations, governmental agencies, other high level contacts at other universities, and patients.
Other duties include preparing and assisting with various academic Human Resources (HR) appointments such as student volunteers, visiting scholars and scholarly observers. The individual will also serve as the Endocrine Fellowship Coordinator managing two Non-Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Fellows per year, assisting with recruitment, interviews and providing administrative support during their fellowship. The position requires a high level of autonomy with minimal supervision.
