The Population Science Research Analyst will work directly with faculty and staff to ensure that all cancer related population science clinical trial data is entered into the UCSF clinical trials management system. They will be responsible for using this data for reporting and tracking clinical trial activities to the Clinical Trials Reporting Program (CTRP) and to Clinicaltrials.gov as well as maintaining quality control and assurance of all trial data. This position reports to the HDFCCC Director of Data Integrity and Compliance and works closely with the Program Administrator for Population Sciences.
The Research Analyst will use skills as a seasoned, experienced clinical research professional with a full understanding of industry practices and organization policies/procedures to apply federal, state, and university regulations, policies, and guidelines, and promote best practices. The Research Analyst interacts frequently with investigators, persons in other organization departments and occasionally persons outside the University that will require the use of tact and independent judgment, knowledge of standards and best practices, and counseling to resolve a wide range of research compliance issues. Must demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Daily tasks include: * Enter data in the clinical trials management system at both the participant and protocol level * Participate in the population science site committee(s) as a clinical trials operation specialist * Facilitate HDFCCC study activation and maintenance for interventional population science protocols * Partner with Protocol Editors, PPMs, and biostatisticians to ensure that they are educated about the potential consequences of their practices on mandatory results reporting to the NCI * Vet accrual data for NCI reporting, and cross-check data stored in various online portals and reconcile all inaccuracies or missing data to ensure accuracy, matching and completeness * Stay current on NCI Clinical Trials Reporting Program (CTRP) and clinicaltrials.gov requirements, and UCSF HDFCCC and UCSF policies and procedures.
