Research - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
The Staff Research Associate II (SRA II) is a laboratory-based research position focusing on mechanisms of Cystic Fibrosis (CF) lung disease. The goal is to understand the innate immune response of neutrophils and platelets in the lung. Animal experiments include mouse models that utilize intravenous and intratracheal injections of biological agents, bronchoalveolar lavage, genotyping of mouse tail DNA, ELISAs, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry. Platelet and epithelial cell assays will also be performed on samples from human CF subjects. These studies will directly impact CF patient care through a Translational Core, and facilitate patient access to novel CFTR (CF Transmembrane Regulator) modulator therapies.
