Involved in the development of server / OS / desktop / mobile applications and services including researching, designing, developing specifications for designing, writing, modifying, testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and maintaining source code. Also having direct or related involvement in designing related databases, user interfaces, integration to other systems / applications, content, or multimedia processes. Work includes analysis and design to post-production processes, quality assurance, maintenance, and documentation.
Applies advanced software concepts and objectives to medium to large projects of broad scope and complexity. Regularly resolves highly complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Selects tools, methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to obtain results.
Under general supervision of the manager of Identity and Access Management Supervisor, the Identity And Access Management Applications Programmer is part of the Identity & Access Management (IAM) Team, which is responsible for MyAccess Single Sign-On (SSO), the Enterprise Directory Service, DUO for multifactor authentication, identity management and other applications and systems required to support the aforementioned systems. This broadly includes clinical and administrative applications, and access via desktop, web, and mobile clients.
The incumbent performs systems analysis, design, and programming for IAM applications. Those applications are used to manage and administer digital credentials (username/password) and identity data, applications for access and permissions using highly sensitive data that is critical for managing applications across the entire UCSF enterprise. In our collaborative team environment, the incumbent develops, designs, and supports complex applications and services. This position will develop technical specifications, write, and maintain documentation and test applications. Other duties include evaluating and recommending software, design and implementation, interface design and end-user testing. This position leads the team in documenting process and workflow requirements, and then works with the other Identity and Access Management Developers and Administrators to build solutions which fulfill these requirements. Acts as an operations lead for application design and development.
