As a recognized clinical informatics expert, applies comprehensive knowledge of professional concepts and industry practices to lead the most complex projects of large size and scope that have critical financial and patient safety impact throughout the medical center and / or systemwide. The Sr. HEIP Programmer Analyst (Sr. PA) is responsible for the integrity of all aspects of hospital acquired infections (HAI) data reported internally and externally. The accuracy and consistency of these data reported across multiple platforms is critical given their significant financial, regulatory and reputational impact. The Sr. PA ensures that systems supporting the dissemination of these data are operating efficiently and accurately, minimizing opportunities for error and/or omission through streamlined processes well coordinated with mulit disciplinary partners. S/he is able to manage multifaceted and iterative projects and has the requisite experience to understand and communicate with non-technical users while additionally mentoring staff within the unit, department, and organization regarding best practice for data mining, collection, storage and utilization.
Involves the development and implementation of the organization's information systems and tools that are applied to clinical information. Works closely with clinicians across all hospital / healthcare departments to optimize effective use of systems. Coordinates analytical support for health management, including profiling, health economics, and business analytics / performance metrics. Defines systems and applications to support various functions. May provide customer service, troubleshooting and maintenance.
