The Credit/Refund Unit is responsible for analyzing, reviewing, researching credit balances for possible refunds to various payees. The Unit verifies all incoming requests for credit/refunds by internal or external customers for legitimacy daily. The Unit must accurately post refund, adjustment, transfer funds, and/or process credit/refunds per the guidelines, policies, procedures, and compliance regulations. The Unit works closely with UCSF Medical Center's Accounts Payable department and affiliated institutions to develop and assure quality and compliance with all UCSF, MGBS, Government, and HIPAA standards.
Within this unit, the Credit/Refund Representative's main task is to resolve all outstanding credit accounts through constant communication with the payers (by phone, system, or web access), other MGBS units, UCSF clinical departments, and billing agents. The incumbent demonstrates the ability to perform all aspects of credit/refund with superior quality. The incumbent will conform to all UCSF, MGBS, Government, and HIPAA policies and procedures.
