Provide in-depth academic advising, general counseling, and related student services for prospective, new, and currently enrolled students primarily, but not exclusively within the Silver Schools MSW Program. Familiarize students with the many academic and co-curricular resources and opportunities available in the MSW Program and New York University as a whole. Develop and coordinate academic support programming. Update and monitor website and marketing of academic programs through the use of social media, webinars, and advising office publications. Collaborate with team on various projects including generating and analyzing reports and making recommendations to facilitate decision making.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education: Master's Degree Social Work or related field.
Required Experience: 3+ years relevant experience or equivalent combination. Must include counseling or student personnel administration and event planning experience.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills. Ability to professionally interact with all levels of students, staff, faculty and outside groups. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Excel, is expected. Requires some evening and weekend work. Candidates should be creative, innovative, and dynamic.
