Provide administrative support to the Department Chair and Vice Chair. Assist the Chair in planning, organizing and scheduling the Chair's activities. Responsible for daily operations and administrative details in the Chair's Office. Prepare correspondence, compile reports and respond to inquiries. Collect and disperse statistical information for the department. Organize and manage the calendar for the Department Chair. Effectively and professionally interact with the University community. Coordinate meetings for the Department Executive Committee, Faculty and the Chemistry Industrial Advisory Board. Prepare correspondence; compile annual reports for faculty and process faculty payroll. Organize and manage the Chemistry on line Course Evaluation; includes tracking data and maintaining databases for the Vice Chair. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
High school diploma plus three years of increasingly responsible office support experience required; equivalency considered. Computer proficiency with word-processing and spreadsheet necessary. Must be able to handle matters of a confidential nature and prioritize multiple responsibilities. Excellent oral and written communication skills essential. Must be highly organized, self-motivated, and detail oriented.
Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred. Database experience preferred. Experience working in an academic environment helpful.
