Towson University Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology department is seeking a Program Specialist. The Program Specialist under general supervision, performs activities pertaining to recruitment, screening, and admission processes for all department programs, accreditation and assessment compliance and management, advising and transfer student support, fieldwork site paperwork, website management, and general academic programmatic administrative support. Other administrative related duties to support program, faculty, and student success.
Manages the application processes for all department programs; develops, maintains, and manages all confidential applicant files and all related admissions materials; schedules and/or coordinates applicant interviews, communications, mailings, etc; communicates effectively with SPPA department chairperson, program directors/coordinator, and University Admissions
Compiles and maintains records related to administrative processes associated with program assessment, evaluation, accreditation, and clinical education. Enters data and maintains database related to program accreditation and assessment and prepares reports for review.
Supports and coordinates with the department chairperson, program directors/coordinators, clinical education coordinators to compile, update, maintain, and prepare records related to administrative processes associated with clinical placements, including managing and/or maintaining confidential student files
Supports programs with specialized advising needs: provides accurate information to students regarding university policies, procedures, academic requirements, campus resources, and degree completion planning.
Coordinates administrative processes and/or marketing efforts involved in supporting academic programs with tasks related to recruitment, selection, admission, registration, orientation, and progression of students; updates and maintains SPPA website
Initiates routine communication; receives, screens, and responds to inquiries on the phone or in writing; provides general information about departmental programs; maintains department/program communication regarding admissions requirements, basic academic policies, general program information, and routine email/letters/phone scripts.

Successful candidates will....
Have a Bachelor's degree and at least two years of related work experience
Possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills and be interested in and attentive to cross-cultural communication
Possess excellent time management and multi-tasking skills and be highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented and be able to shift priorities as needed
Have the ability to work both collaboratively and independently and interact with the public, employees, and students in a courteous, respectful, and efficient manner
Have a working knowledge of variety of software platforms including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access and a working knowledge of standard office equipment.
Possess strong organizational and time management skills to meet required deadlines.
Be able to maintain confidentiality.
Previous experience in higher education program support in advising, admissions and/or student outreach/recruitment.
