Towson University College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Events & Operations Office is currently accepting applications for an Events and Operations Technician. Under supervision of the director, the Events and Operations Technician will provide technical and administrative support for both event and operations related aspects of the office.
Coordinate event technical needs including equipment and personnel as appropriate.
Serve as subject matter expert regarding audio, lighting and video equipment used in live venues.
Serve as technical support staff on assigned events.
Serve as event coordinator for assigned events.
Assist director with administrative tasks related to events and to operations.
Other duties as assigned.
Successful candidates will...
Have a Bachelor's degree in Multimedia Technology, Technical Theatre or related field
Have one year of experience in the operation and maintenance of audio-visual or multimedia equipment
Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong attention to detail
Have working knowledge of live event lighting, audio and video systems, industry-standard safety procedures, and event coordination
Experience with close miking instruments and operating presentation equipment for live and virtual events, such as projectors, screens, and laptops
Knowledge of coordinating with vendors, requesting and creating cost estimates
Experience directly supporting multiple genres of live and virtual performances and film presentations.
Knowledge of QLab or similar application.
Knowledge of Vectorworks or similar application.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or similar application.
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access.
Salary and Benefits
$20.76 per hour and a contract that offers annual leave, holidays, sick days. Contractual employees scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage. The position is contingent on funds being available at time of hire.
