Towson University is accepting applications for a contractual Planner in the Facilities Planning Department. This position assists the Director in the coordination and development of campus space plans, Part I and Part II programs, and other planning documents. Works to ensure planning projects meet end-user requirements, institutional goals, and strategic mission. Assists the Director in the preparation of submissions to the USM to support the University’s capital and system-funded budget requests, space reporting requirements, and miscellaneous planning supporting documentation for capital projects.
Provide development, coordination, and implementation of campus planning projects. Evaluate and develop plans to address campus space needs through space reallocations, alterations, renovations, and new construction.; Develop programming documents, space, and resources studies, and assist in the development of the Campus Master Plan.; Support space management activities such as validating existing spaces, occupants and tracking of floor plan changes. Assists with analysis of campus space for planning purposes.; Conduct space planning research to inform planning and design projects.; Provide support in the development of campus planning reports, programs, utilization studies, and other planning reports and studies as needed.; Performs other duties as assigned.
Successful candidates will...
Bachelor's Degree and at least three years related work experience.
Have ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Be able to handle sensitive materials with discretion and tact
Be able to present ideas and information clearly and concisely both orally and in writing, to perform mathematical computation.
Possess the ability to independently handle multiple tasks and set priorities.
Be able to develop and participate in the development of best practices.
Prior experience in higher education with space planning, facilities management, or related field preferred.
