Indiana University East, Richmond, Indiana, invites applications for a part-time Head Barista to work approximately 27-29 hours per week in the fast-paced food service area. Hours are typically daytime hours ranging from 7am- 6pm. Duties include working with the Food Service Director and Kitchen Supervisor to maintain outstanding customer service, maintaining proper level of product, processing sales quickly, following all food handling practices to ensure safe product accurately and efficiently, following drink recipes, along with safeguarding company assets.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Accurately and efficiently operate POS (cash register) system within the established company guidelines.
Accurately follow drink recipes and procedures.
Greet all customers with fast, friendly, personalized service and develop a rapport with customers by learning their names, favorite drinks, and food items.
Operate all food preparation equipment in a safe manner.
Wash and clean equipment and preparation areas while maintaining the highest possible standards of sanitation.
Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Work in team environment and perform work in a safe and efficient manner.
Perform other related work, as assigned.
High school diploma or GED.
Demonstrated dependability, strong work ethic, and good customer service skills.
Strong time-management skills; flexibility while working in a fast-paced environment.
IU East Campus
This is a part-time position without benefits. The rate of pay will be $12 - $13.50 per hour, commensurate with experience.
