Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC) is seeking a Staff Nurse to provide nursing services and participate in the delivery of individualized, goal directed nursing care through the use of the nursing process in accordance with departmental and program policies and procedures and all regulatory requirements. The Staff Nurse will function as a member of the interdisciplinary team; participate in quality improvement and educational activities; and support research endeavors. The role is consistent with the scope and standards outlined by the American Psychiatric Nurses Association for Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing.
Among the key duties of this position are the following * Assesses and diagnoses client, family/significant other's needs in order to provide quality care to assigned clients. * Collaborates with treatment team, clients, family/significant others, in the development of individualized plan of care in an effort to promote wellness and recovery. * Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to implement the plan of care, nursing interventions and procedures as necessary for the care and safety of the client. * Evaluates progress toward attainment of expected outcomes in order to meet the client and family/significant other's needs to ensure overall quality of care delivered. * Maintains concurrent and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the multidisciplinary team, in order to ensure quality care. * Maintains current knowledge and certification/licensure; pursues professional growth and development. * Performs all responsibilities/duties required by Outpatient Services as defined in the scope of service, to ensure that the uniqueness of the client is addressed.
Minimum Education and Experience:
* One (1) year of experience in a substance abuse treatment program or facility.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Ability to relate to clients and provide psychiatric nursing. * Effective problem solving and communication skills. * Ability to direct non-professional staff. * Demonstrated strong clinical nursing specialty. * PC literate with proficiency in word processing.
