The Moores Cancer Center is one of just 51 in the United States to hold a National Cancer Institute (NCI) designation as a Comprehensive Cancer Center. As such, it ranks among the top centers in the nation conducting basic and clinical cancer research, providing advanced patient care and serving the community through outreach and education programs.
The Cancer Center's mission is to translate promising scientific discoveries into new and better options for the care of patients with cancer. The Center supports one of the broadest ranges of cancer activities in the nation – from fundamental and translational cancer research in molecular genetics and advanced molecular therapeutics, and from population studies of cancer incidence to community education about cancer prevention and risk reduction.
Within the Cancer Center, the goal of the Center for Personalized Cancer Therapy (CPCT) is to transform cancer therapy by using advanced technological tools to predict who will respond to a specific treatment and to match each patient with the best drug for a particular tumor. Recent technological advances have made it possible to generate a profile of the abnormalities in the genetic code of a tumor. By gathering enough data, CPCT can identify profiles in order to tailor cancer treatments to individual patients.

Acquires skills and knowledge of professional concepts in research data analysis. The incumbent collects, postcodes, and analyzes data; works closely with the study investigators to assist in designing and modifying study instruments; uses the established policies and procedures to perform routine statistical analysis, such as descriptive analysis, Chi-square and one-way analysis of variance, multiple regressions; assists in preparing final graphs, presentations, reports, and manuscripts for various projects.
Incumbent is responsible for independently interpreting research protocols, coordinating abstraction and validation of medical record review, timely review, and following up on error correction and discrepancies for clean and accurate data. Incumbent will be assigned to manuscript submission processes, including performing literature review, creating tables/figures, analyzing data, and writing.
